The roots of Pallbearer can be traced back to 2006 where the image and sound were forged. A few demo songs were recorded in December 2008. After multiple changes in the lineup, the group solidified in its current lineup in early 2010. With founding guitarist Shawn Davis, he started writing new music with then Sins of Alchemy drummer, Dale Fowler. After a year of writing, Vocalist Travis James (also of SOA origin) came into the lineup. With 30 years combined experience, they recruited friend and bassist, Brad Johnson to fill in until Scott Cobern replaced him as a permanent member. Pallbearer opened for Soilwork, Threat Signal, and Mutiny Within as there first live performance with the newly completed lineup. They have also shared the stage with Thrash Metal revivalists, Warbringer, and Nu-metal vets, Motograter. The word of Pallbearer's greatness and intense live shows spread, leaving all promoters to come to them for slots at local shows. Pallbearer, being known for their mentality of DIY, obtained all recording equipment and began to write, produce, and engineer their first E.P. titled, "Cacotopia", which is set for release in late 2011.
