I've been writing songs since the early 1960s. Started out as a folkie and moved into many other styles over the years--blues, country, R&B, Latin, reggae, Gypsy, and finally something very much like jazz. For the past ten years I've been writing in the American Songbook style, or as close to it as I can get. More recently, I've been trying to place songs with jazz singers. My great luck began about four years ago, when I met Faith Gibson (http://www.reverbnation.com/faithgibson) on MySpace. Not only did we become close friends, but she also recorded four of my songs, plus one we co-wrote, for her CD Big Moon, released in June 2009. You can hear some of those recordings on this page, and she also sings several of the demos. Most of these tunes were written and recorded over the past few years. Some are much older, dating as far back as 1975. If you'd like to perform any of my songs, drop me a line right here, and I'll send you mp3s and lead sheets for them, free of charge. For released recordings, a standard mechanical license and current royalty rates will apply.
Faith Gibson produced her Big Moon CD in Berlin in April 2009. The personnel are: Faith Gibson, vocals; Wolfgang Kohler, piano and arrangements; Lars Guhlcke, bass; Felix Astor, drums; Joe Gehlmann, guitar; Gregoire Peters, alto sax. All of these guys are considered to be among the top jazz players in Germany, and I feel particularly blessed that they were the first to record these songs.
