Boogieman DeLa has always had a love for music, especially Hip-hop/R&B as his mother was a musician, so you can say his talent was inherited. Not to mention some of the artists who influenced him include Wu-tang clan, Nas, DMX, D’angelo, Redman, Mobb Deep, & Big Daddy Kane. At an early age, his expression and vision did conflict with his family’s religious view. He did express his feelings in poetry and prose, but having a heritage of faith, his music, didn’t always represent his background views. Before high school, Boogie was writing music for his close friends and family to hear. His obvious “way with words” caught the attention of others around him. Especially in high school where he was dominant in the battle rap scene. As he gets mature and masters his craft, Boogie has come into his own, with a vision and a word of encouragement for survival within the “jungle of Life”. As time reveals itself, Boogieman DeLa shall unravel more of this expression for others to hear.
Boogieman’s first solo release was just a piece of what he is capable of. Entitled “Reality Rap” (released April, 2010), it gave the listener’s some of Boogieman DeLa’s lifestyle as he paints a picture of the things he see’s and goes thru in the city of “Brotherly Love”. This mix tape was under appreciated by some, a classic to others; a solid project never-the-less. A little over a year later, Boogieman DeLa links up with Ace Mcclowd and puts together ”The Dirty Rehearsals”, released 6/28/11. This project received a much better response and received almost 2,000 downloads in 24 hours. Also, he hasn’t stopped working as he is in the works of putting out Dirty Rehearsal's sequel, “Dirty Harmony”.
