Cody Rentas, a Washington native born the summer of 1992 began playing guitar at age six. Now at the age of Twenty One, has transformed himself into one of the hottest Rock/ Blues Singer, Songwriter, and Guitar Slingers in the Northwest. In 2012 Cody was honored as an inaugural member of famed rock photographer Robert M. Knight’s, Brotherhood Of The Guitar. A group formed to promote some of the most talented young guitarists from around the world, sponsored by Fender Guitar, Guitar Center, and Ernie Ball guitar strings.
Cody, being raised with the influences of the greats like Stevie Ray, Robben Ford, Clapton, Santana, combined with years of practice and countless sessions and performances with his father’s bands, it became clear that Cody was destined to front his own band. Formed in 2008, The Cody Rentas Band has molded it’s self into one of the Northwest’s most unique acts. The addition of the veteran rhythm and key section provides a solid creative foundation for the young musician.
The release of their debut cd “First Steps” in 2011, was met with rave reviews. The band is currently recording a highly anticipated follow up. Hundreds of performances in many of the Northwest’s premier venues, and festivals, have made Cody a consummate stage performer. Their immense constantly growing catalog covers a wide demographic of audiences. Fronted by the charismatic young performer, the band’s popularity and influence continues to grow, as Cody’s style and creativity continues to expand and evolve. Every performance is an incredible journey into his vision.
