With the dissolution of Lips Like Morphine, one of Las Vegas’ most acclaimed indie bands, brothers Charles (vocals) and Ahmad Earland (drums) sought to initiate something new. A band that would carry on the duos’ fondness for the new wave and post-punk movement of the early ‘80’s, and combine it with modern day indie nuances. Love, Vendetta was formed in late 2011 and is rounded out by guitarist/keyboardist/programmer Nathan Geving (ex-Dreamwire) and bassist/vocalist KC Wells (ex-The day after…). Musically Love, Vendetta is very clear in its influences. The four share a common interest in and draw from early New Wave/post-punk era bands like U2, The Smiths, Joy Division and The Cure to New Wave Revival bands such as Placebo, Interpol, Shiny Toy Guns, The Bravery, and Metric. After the release of several EPs and tours throughout the South/Midwest, the band was nominated for Best Break Out Band of 2011 by Vegas Rocks Magazine and is currently in the writing stages of a new record that it looks to have out in 2013 with accompanying tour dates to follow.
