If you haven’t heard of Jordan Whitmore, it’s not because you’re out of the loop. Until she made her subtle entrance into the world of live performance several years ago, the Dallas native primarily shared her musical talents with only those closest to her. Previously an ultra-timid pop singer/songwriter, Jordan has since pushed beyond her own personal boundaries to share her music with the greater Austin area.
Moved by stories of love and love lost, Jordan’s music brings into focus the feelings and tensions inspired by the experiences of everyday people, a keen observation, or her own life’s stories.
Jordan began performing live when her first independent, full-length album neared completion—an album she decided not to release. Why? Because what started out as purely a necessity in performing live, soon began to carry transformative weight into the development process.
Putting together a band, rehearsing, and playing her songs live grew her confidence and evolved how she wanted to creatively communicate to the listener. The changes left her less than enthusiastic about her former efforts and created a new and exciting momentum for the future.
Since then, she released her first EP, "Fondly," in 2011. Produced by Dave Wiley of Alpha Rev, she felt the 4 song collection was a much stronger representation of her as an artist. Not wasting any time, she quickly began working on her next project, "Consider it Done" - a 6 song EP produced by friend and fellow singer/songwriter, Chase Gassaway.
"Consider it Done" captures some of her favorite classic sounds - from Motown to the Beatles - but with a modern approach all her own. Released in August, 2013, the EP has since received local press and nationwide radio play.
