Ant Henson / Bio

Having toured the UK in 2010, Western Europe in 2011, and the South Coast's summer festival scene in 2012, Ant Henson is a well-loved and well-travelled folk troubadour with a penchant for adventure. Toting a unique and catchy blend of energetic folk-pop, emotive balladry, and soulful acoustic rock, Henson has amassed a dedicated online following around the world. The response to his debut E.P. ('I Love You and I Miss You') sent video views and social media popularity soaring, and the release of his eagerly anticipated new album ('57 Stars' - due end of this year) is set to repeat that feat. It's not all about the numbers though, Ant's songwriting talents earned him the accolade of the ITG Songwriter's Prize back in his hometown of Bournemouth in 2011. In his career so far, he has opened stages for a varied host of renowned (and sometimes surreal) acts - from acapella group The Blanks (Ted's band from U.S. hit TV comedy 'Scrubs') to chart-topping 'Scrumpy & Western' band The Wurzels, often to crowds of 2000 or more. Henson even played a blinding pre-headline slot with his backing band at last year's Purbeck Folk Festival (headlined by KT Tunstall, Larkin Poe, and The Destroyers). He has even had the honour of jamming live sets with the late Huw Lloyd Langton (of Hawkwind fame) on several occasions. Now living in London and playing regularly around the capital, Ant Henson has built up considerable momentum as he chases the dream with passion and fury...
