Aggravator formed in the summer of 2008 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Derek Jones and drummer Mike Cortes. Former skateboarding buddies, the two ditched their boards for instruments and began writing and rehearsing music in the hopes of landing a gig within San Antonio's metal scene. Wanting to perform as soon as possible, the band played as a two piece for a number of months until they recruited bassist Steve Gonslaves into the band. The band played the local club circuit as a trio until August of 2010 when Jesse Lopez joined the band on lead guitar. Shortly after, Steve left the band and Tristan Hernandez joined Aggravator as their new bassist. With the lineup complete Aggravator hit the studio in October of 2010 and recorded their well recieved Seven Swords demo and continued to play regionally in Texas. Quickly gaining a reputation for their brand of thrash metal, Aggravator was invited to play the Inferno Festival in Oslo Norway in April of 2012. After a successful appearance at the festival the band returned home and embarked on a 3 week American tour. In September of 2012 their debut album Age of Combat was released and distributed by Europe's Dead Center Productions receiving great reviews worldwide. Things don't seem to be slowing down for Aggravator as they hit the studio once again in September of 2013 to record their second album Populace Destructor with a release date during the winter of 2013.
