Dan Voll / Bio

DAN VOLL, a professional musician for more than 30 years, relocated to Northeast Florida in 2010. Voll (rhymes with 'soul') has long been considered to be among the Midwest’s most versatile and accomplished guitarists. He's been honored with 5 music awards and countless accolades from fans and peers. Known for his dazzling instrumentals and soulful vocals, Dan's genres include blues, jazz, Latin jazz, rock, world music, and acoustic, including original material.

Career highlights include opening for California Guitar trio in April 2010, plus many other concerts, including blues artist Roy Buchanan; Chuchito Valdes; Herb Ellis; Guy Fricano; Lonnie Brooks; A.C. Reed; Eddie Shaw; Danny Gatton; Alan Holdsworth; and saxophonist Richie Cole. Jazz veteran, Cole, states, "Dan Voll is one of the best guitar players I have had the pleasure to work with."

In addition to solo performances, Voll has led successful bands including the Mud Puppies and Combo Loco - a mix of eclectic and contemporary jazz with a Latin flavor. Now based in Fernandina Beach, Florida, Voll was well-known and highly respected in Rockford, Illinois (60 miles NW of Chicago) for many years; he is a repeated RAMI award winner, honored for his acoustic rock, contemporary jazz performances and original compositions. Voll has been teaching guitar for decades and is currently a guitar instructor for the Amelia Arts Academy.

Dan Voll is available for private engagements and can be heard at a variety of nightclubs on Amelia Island.
