They're for real. And they're not what you think. They are the anti-boyband. They quite simply blow any other group of 14 year olds out of the water, and a hell of a lot of adult bands too.
They may have a wide range of intellectual and musical influences like The Doors, Led Zeppelin and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, but make no mistake -- they have their own sound, their own style, and their own uncategorizable amalgam of hardcore rock and roll. They're Plowboy and they're coming your way. Be ready!
They may be 14, but they've been playing a long time, with frontman Jonah Smith and lead guitarist Evan O'Brien forming the nucleus of a group that is already piling up kudos. Bassist Isaac Brodsky and drummer Colin Scruggs drive the rhythms that pull the band together.
No doubt they're for real -- in just the last year's worth of entering the concert scene they've opened for Rik Emmett of Triumph, for Ronnie Montrose, played before 10,000 people between periods of an NHL game at American Airlines Arena, won the Dallas Battle of the Bands, and are on their way to play the Whisky in LA.
They are currently recording their first full length CD of original songs. And we're wagering that you won't have to spin your dial far to find them on the airwaves very soon.
