Sex Cells is made up of David Hartley on lead vocals, Darrin Fuller on lead guitar, Mike Murray on drums and vocals, and Todd Eckley on bass guitar and vocals.
These guys put on a hi-energy, hard rockin’ show, with Darrin adding his own style of “over the top” leads and Daves’ unique vocals. The first time people see them, they become instant fans. Covering material from many modern rock bands to a very cool mix of classic rock, as well as original music, they put out intense energy while having the time of their lives doing it! They also show off their chops, playing songs by Rush, Tool, and Van Halen. Darrin and Mike have been the main stay of Sex Cells over the last decade, and it shows. They are bold and connected. Mike and Darrin formed Sex Cells in 1993, and played everywhere from Dirty Harry's in the Keys, up to Gainesville. They have also opened up for such major acts as Dio at "The Button South" in Hallandale, Molly Hatchet, and Rick Derringer. These guys have the experience behind them and the versatility to play to various types of crowds (classic/alternative/modern/etc.). They have a top-of-the-line sound system and light show, and definitely aren’t shy on stage.
The current line-up is the strongest ever, with Mike and Darrin playing together since 1991, when they did a year long tour of the U.S. and Canada with the band Heads Or Tails. After playing with several other cover and original acts they formed Sex Cells. Lead vocalist David Hartley was previously in the local original band Surreal, who released their debut CD “Dead Butterflies” in 1998.
Together these guys form a tight rock unit that will keep any venue, club or concert hall going for many hours. If you want heavy hitting, straight up or even danceable rock, they are the band for the event!
