ShpakOO is an instrumentalist. He is probably the biggest fan of Mike Oldfield and Vangelis. In his own music shpakOO fuses elements of jazz, such as improvisation and experimentation, harmonies, slight dissonance, syncopation; with well-structured classical arpeggios and melodic theme development. The music genre varies between pieces, as a result shpakOO's music compositions are often categorized by the listeners as soundtrack, ambient, alternative or "chill out". The semi-improvised style of his acoustic, unplugged piano-play has been compared to Keith Jarrett's.
ShpakOO (or Sebastian Szpakowski,) received classical training as a pianist in Poland where he was born. Upon the relocation to the US, where he currently resides, he started exploring the capabilities of MIDI instruments and sequencing softwares. He has been recording music since 1996 as a hobby during his high school and college education. At that time, periodically, demos with shpakOO's compositions were released to family and friends. In 2009 his first official album "It's Time..." was published featuring a small sample of shpakOO's repertoire, 6 original compositions written between 1999 and 2009, and remastered in 2009.
