JWHT has been doing it's part in helping develop the new standard in jazz since 2008. Their new release, "Kid J," is an instrumental interpretation of Radio Head's album "Kid A". However, the Trio took a very different approach to producing the music than the authors, Radio Head. Opposed to a lot of production and over dubbing the Trio produced their record with mostly analog equipment, no over dubbing, and in one long continuous take in front of a live audience. The Trio has been active since Haynes moved to Austin, TX in January 2008. The Trio has played in many venues in and around Texas, and has proven to be able to create an appropriate atmosphere in any room. They have also released one volume of a three volume set of mostly original compositions. The rest of the three volume set is scheduled to come out sometime this year. Also be sure to check their live performance of Kid A if you can. It's a rare performance that should not be missed. The Trio hasn't played Kid A, or any song for that matter, the same way twice. Every JWHT performance is unique to it's environment.
