John Michael Soria’s stage presence is hard to miss. More than six feet tall and usually dressed in black, the audience immediately knows it’s in the company of a genuine rock musician. JMS is an exciting, home-grown guitarist known from here to the West Coast for his innovative and energetic guitar licks. JMS has performed with numerous groups, most notably, Shotgun and Vizion, and Euclid Drive.
One of the Southwest’s hottest bands during the late 70s and early 80s, Vizion released Rock For Your Life, which received airplay on rock stations throughout the South and Southwest. While enjoying the popularity of Shotgun and Vizion, John Michael had the opportunity to open for many national acts such as Van Halen, ZZ Top and Van Zandt, among others.
In the mid 1980s, JMS moved to California where he hooked up with numerous outfits, most notably Euclid Drive. In addition to the two CDs with Euclid Drive, JMS had a song, co-written with Freddee T, on the soundtrack of the movie Blast, as well as a music video with the L.A.-based group called the HEAT.
