Lydia Harrell aka The LovelySinger is one of Boston’s finest musical treasures. Her sultry, soulful voice and evocative phrasings have garnered her the attention and respect of the area’s finest musicians and venues. Be it performing with the Boston Pops or serenading the Boston Celtics faithful fans with America’s National Anthem, Lydia’s dedication to extracting the pure essence of song goes virtually unmatched. Consistently performing more than 150 shows a year, in all different styles and settings, Lydia has shown an unbreakable ability to mold herself into any musical situation. In addition to her own bands, LovelySinger and Platinum, Lydia provides back-up vocals for the Steely Dan tribute band, No Static. In 2011, she was selected over 200 hundred talented vocalists by Sony Music Latin to provide lead vocals for the Bob Marley tribute album, One Love which is now available in 5 countries and soon in the US. On November 20th, 2012 she released her new EP The Way, with a capacity crowd performance and cd release party at Boston’s premiere Jazz club, Scullers. Lydia is one of five finalists in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. She performed at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in November 2013 for well known jazz artist judges (Al Jarreau, Gretchen Parlato, Janis Seigel) in the lovely Victoria Theater.
