Artist and Songwriter Pone Boy has had his fair share of challenges from the streets to the music industry. Growing up in Jackson, MS (Presidential Hills)Rough Gang Related Neighborhood his parents encouraged his love for music with frequent talent show appearances and a keyboard as a gift for Christmas. Embracing the sounds of the keys, his creative mind was at work at a young age writing his own songs. While he was unable to escape the hardship of the streets he found himself in court facing drug charges on two counts of felony intent including almost losing his life over a basketball game and a drunk driving accident that temporarily placed him in a wheelchair, the decision to turn his life around became his outlet and his triumph. His perseverance in the music industry for the past 11 years contributed to notoriety from artists like Young Jeezy and Master "P". While opening up for artists like Lil Boosie,50 cent, Pleasure P, Gucci Mane and Cadillac Don, he has developed a fan base that spans states from Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida .
Pone Boy has taking the underground music industry by storm with his hardwork,and dedication that recently has landed him a record deal that he signed in february with Eternity/Universal/Fontana. His music is being spun by d-jays and clubs across the south. Pone Boy has been featured in Fablis Magazine (October ’09), and featured in several others, and his name and success continues to spread. Pone Boy has even grown so much as an artist that he has launched his own record label, Click Tight Records, which he plans to make a major imprint in the music industry.
