Referencing the romanticism of John Steinbeck's most powerful novels, Salinas is a group of prairie boys who care deeply about the messages in their songs. An indie rock outfit, the band explores themes such as desperation and identity, and the politics of social struggle. Their debut self-titled record showcases the bands soul-searching and dynamic song-writing. Produced by Matt Peters (Royal Canoe, The Waking Eyes) and John Paul Peters (Comeback Kid, Matt Epp), the album topped college radio charts in Winnipeg, Edmonton, and St. Catharines, and received high-praise from a variety of music critics around the country.
Despite setbacks since its release, the band is working harder than ever. On January 24, 2012, the band released their new EP, "All These Choices." With an engaging live show and growing repertoire, the band has extensive long-term touring plans with the goal of sharing their music and messages with as many people as possible.
