Formed in the cold Northwest in February of 2008, this Tacoma, Washington band boasts a family of musicians. Brothers Dave and Dan Moore, their cousin, Craig Saner, and their long time friend and fellow musician, Jon Thorn make up From the Sea. Struggling to make something of the music scene after years of playing in ska and reggae, rock, punk and metal bands, they decided it was time for a change. They wanted to create good music that people can relate to, but still maintain a heavy, yet earthly sound. From the Sea was going to be different. Straying from the norm, they added piano, synth, strings and four part vocal harmonies to a palette of heavy, crunching guitars, pounding bass and thundering drums. The end product of this unique combination is dynamic and certainly does not sit still. It moves with the tides, sliding along the current's rapid flow. They go where their music takes them; whether it brings out sadness or joy, love or hate, loss or perseverance, they make it their own and give it that certain electricity that binds it together.
