Loretta Callens began her journey through music at an early age. She credits her parents with fostering a love of music which shows in each performance. Music critic, Tom Geddie of Buddy Magazine gave a positive review of her first album, “Strayz” stating “Callens can sing”
Several of Loretta’s recordings received air play on east Texas radio stations, 104.1 The Ranch, 95.3/102.3 The Breeze and KNON Dallas Public Radio.
In Loretta's early musical days she performed in folk duet Firelight, Pine Hill Bluegrass and two east Texas southern rock bands. She presently performs at wineries, art galleries, festivals, coffee houses, house concerts and private events in east Texas and the Dallas area.
In May of 2011 Loretta released a new CD "Life Is Good" along with a companion wine by the same name produced by Texas Roads Winery. The wine is a moscato, light and crisp with a hint of fruit, sweet but not too sweet. Kinda like Loretta!
Aside from performing and songwriting, Loretta produced nineteen outdoor festivals during the 80s and 90s. She co-founded and produced the 2009 and 2010 Texas Independent Music Expo.
Loretta’s latest project, “Sentimental Journey” Improving Lives Through Music, provides entertainment to low income assisted living and nursing centers at no cost to the facility.
