snOre / Bio

In 2007 the band known as snOre was created by Anthony Cain, Erik Lund, and Shad Devries. SnOre started recording within the first 2 weeks of our initial practice. Our first release, "Geronimo" was produced and recorded by our long time friend Jon farmer, and included Rob Waters, former member of Limp Bizkit on guitar. We then recorded our epic song "Silver", featuring Jon Farmer on string arrangements, and Rob Waters on lead guitar. SnOre then gave birth to a silly tune about baseball entitled "Grover", featuring Jon Farmer and Rob Waters. SnOre proceeded to record and release new music every couple weeks. As songs developed we recorded, sometimes entering the studio only 50 % prepared. We felt that the unknown factor enabled our sound to grow and develop in a more natural state as opposed to being fully prepared. Songs like "Brick", "God In G", "Monday", and "Thin" were recorded and we were on our way to having a tremendous library of sound. Our unity as a three piece was tight. We had amazing talent supporting us in this journey, and we as a whole felt as if we were on the threshold of something really big, but as life goes the atmosphere certainly changed when our bass player was relocated to Indiana. The decision was made to keep pushing and to continue to track new music long distance style. "Elevator" was our first song recorded in Florida and Indiana. Jon Farmer was able to track guitars, vocals, and drums in his studio, and Erik tracked in a studio in Indiana. The two meshed in Farmer Studios and from that point I knew that snOre could continue, using this method.
As time went on the urge to play live shows became an issue for guitar/vocalist, Anthony Cain. The need to play this material to the listeners became a necessity, so I (AC) made the decision to dismantle the current lineup and start fresh by bringing Rob Waters in on bass and former Red Jumpsuit Apparatus drummer Tim Ross into snOre. They graciously accepted and shows followed. During this time no new music was recorded, and because of that I felt something lacking once again. Once again at a crossroad, I(AC) decided to step back and regroup. Feeling as if I were the last one standing, the decision was made to write and create new music and not worry about playing shows or who lived where, and who was going to play on the new material. I just had a need to get the music out of me.
I proceeded to write new material, and was fortunate to have Jon farmer on drums and Erik Lund back on bass. In old school fashion, snOre tracked new music long distance style once again. Our songs "Hawg", and "Hee-Haw", were recorded and caught the ear of our long time supporter Mike Watt. We were given the amazing opportunity to open for Mike watt and the Missingmen, which was a def. milestone for snOre. This format of snOre continued for a period of time and once again I(AC) had the need to get on stage, so the decision was made to separate once again and try another path.
My close friend Buck Colson and his brother Jason Colson joined the band in 2013. They brought a unique sound to snOre, and we were able to create and record the song "Country Beatdown". This version of snOre managed to stay together for close to a year. We played many shows and opened for 90's super group Filter. This version of snOre, separated and once again I found myself alone with lots of material swirling around in my head, that had to get out. I reunited once again with Erik Lund and Jon Farmer and together we recorded, "Blahs @ War" and "You Bought It". In 2014 Buck Colson and Jon Farmer joined me on our song "Beef is Good in Sauce".
As you, the reader can see, snOre has had many layers to its body of work. I(ac) have kept snOre alive for many reasons, but mostly because I feel it is a unique stone in this world of rock, and as long as I continue to have amazing talented friends that are willing to lend their abilities to my creations, I will continue to create and support the many sounds of snOre. I want to thank Erik Lund, Shad Devries, Rob Waters, Tim Ross, Buck and Jason Colson, and mostly Jon Farmer for his studio, talent and most of all his suggestions he has made from 2007 to the present. Thanks for listening to snOre!
