Puneet Prasad was born March 30, 1985 at Kaiser Permanente in Vallejo, CA to Elizabeth Luares Prasad and is the oldest among his two other sisters, Hannah(1989) and Annabelle (1991).
Performance was not a recent development in Puneet’s life. From a young age, he was always in the spotlight one way or another; whether it be piano recitals, shows for his humongous family at their frequent gatherings during or between holidays, playing sports, giving speeches for various events stemming from involvement in student body/city council/’Boys’ State’/national Forums on Law/Sigma Alpha Epsilon (UCLA Fraternity)/his research at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs/The Salvation Army/Dance Showcases/school, regional and off-Broadway Theater/or just putting on a show whenever a videocamera was rolling.
Puneet is one of those guys who would lead the pledge of allegiance, make a spanish video instead of writing a paper and offer to be team captain because he was always comfortable in front of an audience. His active lifestyle and large asian family kept Puneet and his sisters around lots of people and always at Center Stage. In fact, for several years they were the stars of Diane Shaver’s Dance Studio Productions in the East Bay Area, California and have songs together on itunes, amazon, rhapsody, napsters and other music stores.
Always driven and working hard in school, athletics and whatever community service he was helping with is a trait that he inherited from his parents; both by observing his Filipino mother’s persistence in attaining a Master’s Degree in Nursing and his Indian Father dropping his law degree and cushy job as a Hotel Manager in Dubai to raise a family in America: going from gas attendant to Real Estate guru.
Puneet finally submerged himself into the entertainment industry his last years at UCLA. He performed in several plays both in and out of school, worked part time as a radio personality and disco jockey in Hollywood and produced music and music videos in Norther and southern california until he left the Golden State for the Big Apple at the beginning of 2009 to be closer to his ex-girlfriend.
Puneet Prasad was immediately ‘discovered’ while networking around midtown at Scott Powers Studios by Cinematic Management. The CEO Marta Michaud, worked for many years in the TV/Film and Model division of Wilhemena Agency before recently starting her own talent management company.
Puneet has been booking: national commercials (Bloomingdale’s with rose McGowan, Powermat Wireless charging, JCPenny’s with the Olson Twins, Verizon cellular devices, Citibank, etc.), Feature Films (Festival of Lights opposite Degrassi star Melinda Shankar and Aiden Quinn, The Infernal room directed by pro wrestler and ‘survivor’ contestant Billy Garcia, The Mozart of Rap, and sony sponsored films to be released in 2012), made TV appearance, print ads and fashion shows since.
Furthermore, within the past 3 years he has been found performing live for the interactive off-Broadway show ‘The Boychick Affair’, NBC and The Marriott marquis’s ‘The ride’ and a plethora of clubs around NYC including but not limited to: The Ha! Comedy club, Comix, The People’s Improv Theater, Webster Hall, The Times Square Arts Center, Karma Lounge and The Belmont Lounge.
