Hey all. I am a lifetime Professional Musician (mainly a Drummer) and have played decades for Bands, Concerts, CD projects, studio/session work for commercial works, and have done a vast amount of LIVE performances in almost every genre - from Symphonic to Mod-Country to Rock (all forms). As a Musician, I am first and foremost a Drummer, with some Keyboard-Piano skills, and can do Vocal (harmony), as well. Also have good skills in the Mix-Engineering Dept. (mostly my material) and use strong (fitting) Song Formats for my material seeking Commercial Play or use by Artist, Band, etc. Song Formats for Pop, Country & Americana have unique forms and I seek to utilize awareness in my song design using solid Verses, powerful Hooks, with catchy melodies for any individual Artists, Bands, or commercial projects, such as Jingle/Intro/Background music for Commercial use - (Radio-TV-Film). As for as being a Songwriter, I co-wrote the Theme Song (Cable Operator) for Willie Nelson's "Outlaw Music Channel" cable TV series and have written for (and with) other Artists, as well.
Commercially published as a Songwriter (with ASCAP) have many works/songs Copyright with LOC (Wash DC), as a Publisher, I own "Good Times Three" Music Publishing Co.@ ASCAP, and I'm an Entrepreneur of sorts, (Patent-inventions: see Patent info below) and character Actor. I am always looking to work on various projects, open to all things possible, and like to compose-create with others. We are in a world full of projects and ideas waiting to happen and be developed. Anything that can be thought of, it is possible through belief and hard work.
I am a product of the University of North Texas Jazz/Music program, student of Modern Music, Drumming and Piano, Jazz, Ensemble, Orchestral, Composition, and Music Theory. I studied Mix Technique with Mixmaster Skip Frazee, the top Dallas Commercial / Jingle Engineer for Final Mix for TV/Radio commercials in 1981. Learned valuable console & board Mix skills from Demo to Final product with Skip. I write Music-Lyrics intended for other Artists to cover. I use specific Song Format(s) that work for commercial use for Pop, Country, and other genres, mainly original material for new or established Artists to cover. Drumming, I play Live and this includes Concerts, Club, and Events - Studio/Session work includes singles, CDs, early LPs, various jingle work, and Artist or Studio drumming needs such as special projects or 'fill-in' work. Experienced in many forms of Drumming, including Writing & Creating Beats, Loops (basic to advanced that end up sounding REAL), use of 'logical' drum fills (they sound and fit the work), and help others (non-drummers) in this area - this is where many non-drummer Songwriters need help in programming drum tracks - Logical, REAL sound drum beats & drum 'fills' that can be used for their own material. Most of the time, it takes a real drummer's experience to produce drum beats, fills, loops, and a drumkit mix that tends to help enhance works of other Musicians who write, but play a different instrument. Simply said, a drummer can produce a better (more real) sounding drum track.
In addition to Drumming & Songwriting, I am seeking to work in a position in A&R, or as a liason for a Music Entity working with Artists & Management for Record Labels or Firms involving Talent. that is as important as the Music created. What does that contract you are signing SAY? What ARE you signing up for? These are important issues and many fine musicians I know, well they know very little about the Business Side and end up with a contract that is an IOU and a promise to pay back any (or all) funds advanced by, say, a Record Label. So, I would hope to work more with Music Labels, PR Companies and Artist Development for the success of the Artist AND the Label, Company or Music Enterprise. I am wanting to evaluate Artists, use my experience to enhance and develop my work, as well as other Artists in Song success, and educate (and be educated) on Label signings, Royalty processes, by Performing, Writing, and helping solve issues for new Artists, Labels, and Start-Up Music Enterprises. and be involved in the success of any company I work for, any Artist I work with, and create a successful relationship with Artists, Studios, other Songwriters-Composers - being part of the Plan for Success.
I try to be open to all things involving the 'Creative to the Commercial' side of Music and Musical ventures. I am foremost a Drummer, play Keys well, and do some Vocals (mostly for my material). 40+ years experience. As a "Life-long Drummer" I've played with many bands, LIVE & Studio (includes several LPs & CDs), worked on various Musical Collaborations (including work with other Songwriters on a collab CD), and have many years as a Songwriter. For my own material, I write all Music & Lyrics, play all the instruments needed, do all vocals, record and mix my Demos. In addition, I work with, and play/record on various projects, for Bands, Artists, and will write new material for any Artists, Singers, Bands, as well as work with other Songwriters in Dallas-Ft Worth area. Thank you for your time.
I would appreciate any Opportunity to work with any Record Label, Intern at Studio, or do PR Rep work for any Musical Entity that looks for new Talent, new Opportunities, and can use a person with experience in Music, Business, PR, and years of being in the Mix of Business, Music, Talent and Representation for Success.
Thank you and Good Luck to you All! Bests,
