BIG 10-4 is the energetic, modern rock band from Orlando, Florida, taking on the challenge of winning fans one by one, show after show. With a sound made for arenas that grafts soaring guitars, lush melodies and seductive rhythms, it also carries a narrative lyrical style that tells the stories of our lives. The ham radio sign-off “BIG 10-4” perfectly describes the group’s positive, upbeat vibe. The daring word play and brain swelling melodies stand out, making you realize that these are the soundtracks of your days and the stories of you nights.
Having signed with Universal/Republic Records, BIG 10-4 released "Testing The Atmosphere" in 2006 with Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, Faith No More), and hit the road in support of regional radio play. Over the past few years, BIG 10-4 has played in front of many sellout crowds in Orlando’s favorite venues while further establishing a strong presence throughout the Southeast. They have become a staple of Axis Magazine’s annual Florida Music Festival and are gearing up to perform at the first ever Orlando Calling Festival in November of 2011.
BIG 10-4 has already won numerous awards including Orlando Sentinel’s Band of the Year in 2008 as well as XL106.7’s “Next Big Thing” in 2010. Most recently, FedEx named BIG 10-4 the winner of the FedEx Underground Music Contest in May of 2011, subsequently sending the band to Memphis, Tennessee to finish recording their upcoming album in the famous Ardent Studios. BIG 10-4 has opened for many national acts including Something Corporate, Jason Mraz, OAR, Sister Hazel, Sean Paul, Gin Blossoms, Better Than Ezra, Cake, and Seven Mary Three.
BIG 10-4 has emerged from the studio with their second album and first independent release, "Magazines and Movie Screens," a compilation of the band's most powerful and organic collection of songs to date. From the straightforward immediacy of "We've Been Here" to the rythmic/rock of "Good Girl," singer/songwriter Dan Verduin has continued to evolve his heartfelt lyricism, combining it with the band’s most complete and soulful performances. Newer songs such as the anthemic “Vampire Life” and the driving rock-and-roll track “Comeback Kid” are quickly becoming fan favorites even before being released.
The homegrown sound was developed alongside producer Chris Gill (Shinedown), adding depth and experience to the project. BIG 10-4's show is going back on the road, looking to support the work they have poured their lives into.
BIG 10-4 is powered by Gibson Guitars.
