Baltimore based Pages & Poets bring a new and fresh sound that fuses Rock and R&B. In less than a year, Pages and Poets has composed and released their first EP, performed numerous national openers, and received rave reviews from the press. The debut EP features autobiographical song writing, ubiquitous riffs and percussive tones, and haunting vocals that add a soulful flare with a hard hitting sound.
Jason Fubler first made it on to the music scene as the guitarist for Live Alien Broadcast. By virtue of his creation Agents of the Sun, Jason’s writing ability landed him a record deal with the major independent record label, Dcide Records. After leaving Agents of The Sun, Jason starting throwing around the idea of putting together a new project. His first call was to a friend on the local Baltimore music scene, Che Lemon.
Che first made his impact on the music industry as the bassist of Jimmie’s Chicken Shack. With his heavy-hitting riffs, Che, along with Jimmie Chicken Shack, signed with Elton John’s Rocket Island record label.
Together, Jason and Che called on an old time friend to the Baltimore music scene.
Karras Johnson is well known within the tri-state area as a session drummer. Professionally taught by Dennis Chambers, Karras is a versatile drummer that marries rock and jazz undertones.
In the following months the trio began writing and auditioning vocalists. After a failed attempt to find a local singer with the sound they were looking for, the band began to reach out to the surrounding states.
Chris Thomas, the vocalist of Pages & Poets, was just a well kept secret in Philadelphia when he heard of the on going auditions in Baltimore. The band had Chris travel down to Orion Studios in Baltimore and one song was all it took. As a soulful and honest lyricist, Chris majestically articulates the messages of the songs with his beautiful melodies.
