Michael’s musical career began in 1987 when he fell for his first love the Cello. He continued to play the Cello throughout his school career and beyond. During which he performed in multiple competitions as well as 7 musicals. Soon after high school he began writing and composing acoustic music as an outlet to the heart break and sadness that he felt surrounded him. Then in 1999 he became a founding member of a metal band called KURU (yeah I know complete spectrum jump) in which he fell for his second love, playing bass. Through his time with KURU “Haggis” was born and with it the chance to be able to perform for thousands of fans all around the country including 65+ national acts including some of the biggest for the genre and time period. When KURU came to an end he found himself back at home and struggling to find his direction once again. Naturally he turned to his acoustic music that had been a constant presence and comfort in his life. This is when his current sound began to develop. Always being self-conscious and shy about the personal window that his own music opened these songs were rarely performed in public. Since this point he has played bass in an acoustic group and a few rock groups including his last group Tirade Parade (both KURU and Tirade Parade can be found on reverbnation if you were interested). After the demise of TP and being tired of having to rely on other people he found himself finally at a point he should have been many years ago. Acoustic Haggis is a compilation of all that Michael has been a part of. From classical to metal to funk rock the diversity is tremendous. If you enjoy share if not that is fine also. As a wise man once said “if everyone liked the same kind of music, music would suck” hope fully you enjoy.
