Originally formed in winter of 2002 at city of Larissa Greece, Pandora’s Box formation went under many permutations. Currently consisting of founding members, brothers Loukas & Giannis Avgerinos on guitars & drums respectively and the additions of bassist Dimitris Sourlas and vocalist Alexandros Siderakos and Sotirios Athanasiou on keyboards , the band traverses through its steadiest and most productive period.
The band headlined many local shows and festivals, covering a variety of songs in the Heavy Metal genre but also, performing their own compositions.
After many delays, due to constant lineup changes but most importantly Giannis’ severe hand injuries, their first full length, self-titled demo album finally came out. Financial restrictions made it imperative to both record and mix the album in its entirety at the brothers’ home studio, with minor mastering taking place at a professional studio. Real instruments were used during the whole recording process, excluding the symphonic ballad Lost Love, which involved extensive programming.
The album received fairly good reviews in the Greek METAL HAMMER & HEAVY METAL magazine characterizing its sound as Melodic Heavy Metal with Progressive & AOR influences. In the reviewer’s own words: “… I have great expectations from this band. Time will tell”.
While working on new material, the band’s main attempts focus on hitting the stage of domestic or international major music acts and, if possible, embarking on a contract with a Record Label. After all, it is evident in both the visual and audio experience that it comes to serious, mature individuals with good musical perception and above all, willingness to collaborate and desire to create.
