North Head was formed in August 2008 with the mission of playing original, groove-oriented, alternative rock that makes you crank up the volume knob and thump whatever inanimate object is within reach*. The types of songs that stick in your head and stay there for a while until you politely ask them to leave so you can go to sleep. These songs are all canvassed on a positive background and deal with the struggle to escape from a chaotic, painful past and find a place in the world. They are about the ability we all have to overcome the hurts we all share. We all drink from the same bittersweet well of grief, triumph, suffering, and love – the most powerful elements of the human experience. Listening to North Head is like sitting down at the table and drinking deep with them -- instead of alone.
