Singer-songwriter and pianist Pamela Machala creates a delicious kind of piano pop, influenced by a love of jazz and R&B.
A native of Champaign-Urbana, IL, Pamela grew up in a family of classical musicians. Fifteen years of piano lessons later, she realized her true passion was writing songs. She became a regular at open mic nights during her college years in Oberlin, OH.
Soon, animated late-night conversations about the masterful grooves of Ben Folds Five led to the formation of a three-piece band with bassist Chad Mathis and drummer Jamie Mauck. Equipped with a new energy, Pamela recorded her debut album, Golden Delicious, at Pogo Studio in Champaign. Released independently in June 2012, the album is a marriage of catchy hooks, harmonic complexity, and compelling lyrics.
Most recently, Pamela has relocated to Minneapolis and will be touring the Midwest in the fall of 2012 to promote her new album.
