City Of Stages is a 5-piece metal band formed in 2011 out of Orlando, FL. The band found it's start when guitarists and long time friends Mike Beck and Christophe Hernke (formerly of Out Of Exile), along with drummer Steve Schell (formerly of Contest Of Arms), began collaborating on a metalcore project. There was an immediate chemistry and the first five City Of Stages songs were finished within a couple months of writing. Although they had enough content for a debut record, they lacked one important thing; a full lineup. From there, the search for a front man and a bassist was put into overdrive. Steve's long time friend Matt Agan (former producer/engineer for Wild Circle Productions) got the offer to play bass and dove right into the part by learning all five songs within a week after the first rehearsal with the band. After a few failed auditions for a screamer/singer, Matt decided to step up and tryout. The harsh screams layered with sporadic melodies seemed to fall perfectly into the City Of Stages mix. The final piece of the full lineup was added shortly after the intense pre-production and recording phase of the band's first release. Cole Fagan heard about the band's search for a bassist and showed up ready to leave her impression on the guys. It wasn't long before they made her a permanent part of the COS family. By combining each member’s unique and eclectic taste in music, City Of Stages creates a new sound that is evident in their debut EP “Overshadow” (released April 14th, 2012). In an extreme effort to get their music heard, City Of Stages continues to inject their new brand of metal into the local Orlando scene and all over the state of Florida. Since their humble beginnings jamming out in Mike’s garage, the band has strived to create a new sound while still portraying each member’s artistic influences. The release of their EP was just the start, City Of Stages is currently self-producing & recording a full-length album entitled “Harboring Destruction” that is due to be released in the spring of 2013.
