Quiet Kid / Bio

Quiet Kid officially disbanded in December of 2007, after ten years of playing their unique brand of Mod, Punk and Psych-influenced American Indie Rock out of the City of Chicago. During their decade in existence, they released 3 full-length discs (Imbicilica, Somewhere, and A Bright White Light), and 2 EP's. Their live shows ranged from aggressively intoxicated and shambolic, to groovily brilliant.

Quiet Kid are: Jamie Bachmann- vx, rthm gtr; Mark Hughes- dr; John Lewellyn- bs gtr, vx; Chris "Shendo" Meiferdt; and Stevie Weber- ld gtr. On the two EP's, however, John Warner played drums, and Clark Riley played bass guitar. John Warner also played drums on the Imbecilica album. Additionally, Clark Riley produced and recorded the single, "Maybe This Christmas", with Jamie Bachmann in Winter, 2000/2001.

On the stage, in addition to their originals, Quiet Kid covered tunes as varied as Sinead O'Connor's "The Emperor's New Clothes", The MC5's "American Ruse", INXS's "This Time", The Charlatans' "The Only One I know", Johnny Thunders' "Chinese Rocks", Love & Rockets' "No New Tale To Tell", and Elastica's "Connection", among many others, making each one their own for the moment. They were signed to NeedleDrop Records following an incendiary, but short set during the 2004 International Pop Overthrow Festival in Chicago.

Independent to the end, in 2007, the band donated their tunes "Where's The Fashion?" and "Dollface" to the production of "Cooler By The Lake", a DVD promoting the arts and culture of the City of Chicago.

In 2008, Quiet Kid's lead member, Jamie Bachmann, created an album of what he terms "electronic punk music" under the moniker, "Groovy Times". Quiet Kid's Former Bassist Extraordinaire, John Llewellyn is currently fronting the band Sonny Veneer, with support from Chris Shendo and Stevie Weber.
