Johnny Anthony started singing in clubs in Baltimore at 8 years old. The owner of Zebelon’s Lounge took Johnny under his wing and managed him for the next 10 years. Whitey Johnson was his name. During that time he took Johnny to Warrenton, VA to enter a singing contest, where Johnny took first place 2 years in a row at ages 12 & 13.
When Johnny turned 18 he traveled with the Grand Ole Opry on tour with Rudy Calicut who promoted the world’s biggest indoor country music show at the time with Kenny Rodgers headlining. He has performed with many country legends including Merle Haggard, Dottie West, Narvel Felts and Ronnie Dove just to name a few.
Johnny had a #1 song on the independent charts with a remake of “Run Away Little Tear”. Johnny now makes his home in Saint Cloud, FL. He has a new album out and the first song is called “Queen of the Mall”. Johnny has hopes of making the charts with this single. He has been traveling to radio stations to promote this song.
