Bury the Crown was formed in 2012 from members of A dream Asleep. A dream Asleep formed its Houston staple 5-peice in 2006 as it began building its name with its very high energy, fasted paced and in your face brand of Hardcore.
In late 2010 A dream Asleep and founding guitarist Erik Girth parted ways and A dream Asleep initially decided to go at it with only one guitarist. While it was going well with Justin Smith as the sole guitarist, A dream Asleep decided to give their long time friend Rikki Youngblood a try at 2nd guitar.
Right away they were pleased with what Rikki was adding to the dimensions of the group and decided to start writing all new material and began discussing a name change to go with the new sound direction. Eventually the band decided on Bury the Crown for the new name and came out with the release of they new/debut EP "Shell Beach" on August 24th 2012.
