The boys are back in town, and it’s about what’s now.
Ask any member of My Sister Will about their band, and without fail, they’ll tell you how enthusiastic they are to be part of this close-knit music family. Says drummer Jeff Richards, “I have that excited feeling when I was 18 – I haven’t been excited about music in a long time, but now I am. No matter what we do, where we play – we enjoy doin’ it.”
Bass player Ryan Gagne-Hall agrees, “I’ve always felt like a band is a family – and it extends from there – and this is the first band I’ve been in that I’ve realized how it can REALLY extend from there. I’ve never become such a family member to so many strangers before in my life! And it’s fantastic. I’m gonna stay in this band as long as possible. I get to express myself. I feel totally free in this band – and I know my brothers will defend me to the end.”
Jayce Longway, singer and front-man extraordinaire, says, “I’m in a gang again. I have a family again, we’re in a tribe. We don’t just do music. It’s a brotherhood. I consider these guys my brothers. Ryan is the little brother my mother never gave me. We’ve accomplished a lot, and the band is fierce!”
Bringing out the best in each other is what these guys do best. Full of invigorating danceable tunes and great lyrics, the MSW catalog encompasses all genres. Their high-energy, hard-driving shows, communicate an agenda of pure, unassailable skintight rock-n-roll decadence, resonating with flash and an interlocked lattice of melodies and harmonies. This band is fun!
When questioned regarding their next step, both guitar players – Timmy Bissonette and Steve Cyr – talked about looking forward to the future. “Writing new songs!” says Bissonette. “It’s awesome right now, what else could there be more to look forward to – besides playing to bigger crowds?” smiles Cyr.
The band has an unadulterated rock-n-roll good-time agenda: Have fun, play great shows, and be ready to rock! “The band is focused and wants the same thing – a band that shows up early for a gig and WANTS to be there. We like the whole package of what a show is – interacting with people. It’s the people you surround yourself with that bring out the best in you.” says Richards. For the MSW guys, that goes for the audience as well as the members of the rock-n-roll family that is their band. It’s an all-inclusive experience: Bring your dancin’ shoes and drinkin’ helmet, cause these guys are gonna make sure you party all night long!
