My name is McLean Smith and I am an observer of life. I like to create music, capture experiences, and refine expression through my observations.
While in Annapolis, I was a student at West Annapolis Elementary School, Wiley H. Bates Middle School, and Annapolis High School. Throughout my early educational endeavors, I received encouragement from my family, teachers, mentors, and my friends to pursue music from multiple avenues. Listening to their advice, I choose to attend Belmont University in Nashville, TN. While I am not a Music major, I study Music Business (Production) and Mathematics in the Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business and the College of Arts and Sciences.
As a musician, I have played violin for ten years in multiple ensembles and solo settings. I have played with the Annapolis High School Orchestra, the Annapolis High School Quartet and Trio, the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra, the St. Anne's String Trio, the Rob Levit Student Jazz Quartet, and Belmont University's Jazz String Septet. During the summer, you can usually find me performing covers and my original music in front of Kilwins Chocolate, Fudge, and Ice Cream shop on Main Street in Annapolis, MD. My efforts are continually rewarded by compassionate pedestrians as I play upon Annapolitan bricks, and I am truly grateful for their generosity.
To me, music is a feeling. It is something that captivates one in the moment and releases reactions unknown. It is something I wish to create for the rest of my life. It is something I hope to share with the world.
