Gina Naomi Baez is a Singer/Songwriter/Musician from Long Island, New York. Gina has been onstage performing in musicals since she was 8 years old. At the age of 12 she founded Kids Performing Who Kare, giving young people an outlet to perform in musicals to raise money for childhood cancer. Childhood Cancer is Gina’s main charity because at the age of 12 she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and underwent chemotherapy and radiation. While going through treatment and trying to keep up with her school studies she was a victim of bullying because she had no hair, wore bandanas, and was swollen from the medications. Gina started songwriting as a way to express what she was going through.
As a Singer/Songwriter/Musician Gina has performed at The Metropolitan, Vibe Lounge, The NYPD Memorial Breakfast, The Intrepid Museum, Sullivan Hall and other Tri-State venues. Gina wrote the song “Angels of Newtown” for the lost children of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. which received accolades and over 5,000 views on YOUTUBE. Gina was also featured in THEFW “Top 10 Funny and Uplifting Hurricane Sandy Songs” for her YOUTUBE parody “We Are Never Ever Ever Gonna Forget This Weather!” based on Taylor Swift’s #1 Hit which also helped raise money for the RED CROSS.
Gina wears hearts on her clothing all the time not just because they’re cute and fun but it symbolizes love and peace for herself and others! Gina makes it a priority to speak with groups of children, teens and young adults in order to spread her positive message, music and to inspire others. She believes with music and a smile the world becomes a better place.
