Wendy Jill Cohen Tobias is a third generation Dallasite. In 1992 she attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and graduated in 1994 from the University of Arizona with a Bechelor of Fine Arts. While there, she was a member of the prestigious Symphonic Choral Ensemble, which toured the United States. She was also a featured soloist with the Jazz/Top 40 ensemble, called Chorraliers. While at Arizona, she appeared with Andy Williams in his holiday concert in Tucson; she also appeared in two operas, Falstaff, and the Bartered Bride. Locally, she has appeared in a Cole Porter Showcase at Richland College, as well as the Temple Shalom Showcase in 1995. In addition, as a professional singer, she has performed locally with top bands at special events throughout the metroplex. These performances include an appearance at a half time show for the Dallas Mavericks and for the Texas Legends Minor league Basketball team in Frisco, TX. Wendy is a former fifteen year member of the Shearith Isreal choir, and still a featured soloist for the high holy days. Wendy is also a wedding entertainer and was featured in the Jewish Federation's newsletter for the Newcomers' Event. She also was featured in the Shearith Israel's Music Production, "Then and Now," Federation's Womens Events, B'nai Zion events, Young Adlt events, etc. Wendy was a featured soloist on the Congregation Shearith Israel's CD with Cantor Itzak Zhrebker, and for Mimi Guten's children's CD. Wendy received vocalist awards for performances on a Royal Caribbean Cruise and a Holland America cruise lines. Wendy has appeared in commercials, television shows and movies. In August 2011, Wendy was honored to perform at Camp Better America for our US Military returning from service. She sang her original song, "Angel with A Messege." Wendy was chosen for the Top Ten of the 17th Annual USA Songwriting Competition, 2012, Children Category, "Jingaling Beat," her original song. Wendy has five original songs on iTunes and Amazon. Wendy is a Certified Instructor for Music Together, and a vocal coach. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA, an associate member of The Recording Academy. In addition to all of her accolades, Wendy is most proud of her two sons, Ethan Ross Tobias - 9 1/2 years old, and Connor Reid Tobias - 6 1/2 years old.
