Jamie Lynn is about to release her self-titled debut EP album, much to the excitement of her rapidly growing fan base. With the EP expected to be a success and fame hopefully coming her way, the exciting Country R&B sound she has made her own is certain to gain interest here in North America and around the world.
The development of her unique style is the result of a lifetime of musical influence. Growing up in a talented musical family meant that Jamie Lynn was always around music. Jamie Lynn’s parents surrounded her with country music while growing up. Her mother was a singer in her younger years; she recorded multiple albums and toured with her parents, Jimmy Riley and the Revivaliers, throughout the country. Including the famous Grand Ole Opry. Her father, a Cowboy Pastor, raised the family “pioneer lifestyle” three miles outside of a small northern Arizona town. Her older brother, now an EMT/Fire Fighter in northern Montana, learned how to play guitar and picked up singing at a young age. Her younger sister is focused on pitching in college. She too picked up music at a young age as a drummer. This family dynamic influences and inspires her songwriting, musical styles and life beliefs.
Her first experience in learning to sing was a vocal solo at age three. Later, while being home schooled out on the prairie, with no running water or electricity, there was little to do. So, around the age of eight, Jamie Lynn began playing piano to fill her time. Jamie Lynn was constantly winning vocal competitions and was enrolled in local choirs growing up. Always making the honors choir, and always being the youngest of the group. Since then, Jamie has added the acoustic guitar to her repertoire. At age eighteen she began writing and now has over twenty original songs in her catalog.
Now having the skills to make music her main goal, she has begun to showcase her talent in various venues across Arizona and southern California. Playing as many shows as possible, in front of as many people as possible is the goal of this new artist. She has quickly been noted for her unique style that brings Country music, R&B, and Jazz elements to her sound. Jamie likes to bring a mix of Martina McBride, Sarah McLachlan, Jodee Messina, Sara Bareilles, Trisha Yearwood, and a sprinkle of Colbie Caillat all together. As her popularity grows, she looks forward to connecting with audiences wherever she performs.
Although Jamie Lynn is beginning to develop an audience in the southwest, her destiny is to become a star in Nashville and beyond. In 2011 she traveled to Nashville to seek out this destiny. While spending several days there Jamie was able to play at the world famous honky tonk “Tootsies” on Lower Broadway. Played the Blue Bird Café and performed at Debi Champions singer/songwriter night at The Commodore. The highlight of the visit was a two hour audition/mentoring session on Music Row with highly acclaimed songwriter Danny Wells of Next Level Entertainment (an artist development company). He and Producer Richard Donahue complimented her vocal talents, gave her feedback and offered priceless advice on the steps to take to make it in Nashville.
Finally, after developing her unique sound over recent years, she is now preparing to release her self-titled debut EP album, Jamie Lynn. It includes four songs underlying the experiences and life events she has gone through. The songs on this EP provide a combination of exciting piano playing, powerful, controlled and emotional vocals accompanied with subtle percussion and acoustic guitar. They were recorded in the home studio of a band she toured with in Joshua Tree California. All songs were written and arranged by Jamie Lynn.
