Primevia was first conceived in 2007 by Adelaide session drummer and vocalist, Garry Stevenson (ex Old Bastards, Wheels of Steel, Break and Enta, and Force) after watching the bands Kamelot and After Forever on a late night music program. Several years of work went into conceptualising the bands image and sound, and development of the name and the Cat Warrior logo.

The ridiculously talented but humble Hussein, formerly of Incarnadine joined Primevia on keys in 2012, and the amazingly brilliant Robyn, also most recently of Incarnadine, has bought her 5 string bass and wonderful talent to round out a very talented line up.

Our newest member is Alli, a classically trained vocalist of some 5 years experience who is as comfortable singing opera as rock.

In March 2013 well respected Adelaide guitarist/ sondwriter Mark joined us on guitars and brings exceptional skill to the already exciting line up, welcome aboard Mark, Marks firt show with Primevia is at Scorcherfest April 2013.

Writing is shared among the members and different tracks have all of Primevia or a combination of members contributing to the final product.

Primevia cite a variety of influences which are producing a unique sound, while being familiar in style, it is not uncommon for comments like "You don't sound like anybody else."

Influences include melodic and symphonic metal bands like Lacuna Coil, Delain, Within Temptation, NIghtwish, Epica, Kamelot and even some old skool metal bands like Maiden, and while these are influential the Primevia Style is still....well Primevia.

The end result is that Primevia is now generating interest with labels, overseas management comopanies and peer fan groups.

The Primevia ride has begun, please come with us and while we are at the bottom of a thousand step flight of stairs, the first steps have been climbed and the climb is far from over.
