My Evil Twin / Bio

In 1990 Bruce Kaufman met Lane D’Crago and became My Evil Twin. Over the next twenty years My Evil Twin performed in myriad venues too lengthy to list in detail, but including the legendary J.J. McCabes, the equally legendary Cricket on the Hill, the Fox and the Boulder Theater, and Tulagis. In 2011, one month after a show at the Rock & Soul Café in Boulder, Lane passed away at the way too early age of 54. But music channels the spirit, and so My Evil Twin continues, festooning with sympathetic resonance, and composing a cynosure of vibratory trance-chains for the dance-deprived.
Based in the troubadour ethic of the last thousand years, or so, but with amps and drums and reverb, My Evil Twin combines rock & roll rhythms, country & western wryness, wild punk abandon, soaring melodic leaps of imagination, and the whispered language poetry of the whale-roads.
Bruce Kaufman has studied with numerous musicians, including Bill Douglas at Naropa Institute, and Simon Salz at the University of Buffalo. In 2005 he won the Phil Lesh Wolf Scholarship award, and the opportunity to play Jerry Garcia’s old guitar, the Wolf, with Phil and Friends at the Fillmore in Denver.
Tim Weston has played with My Evil Twin for over fifteen years. Mathematician by day, musician by night, Tim approaches musical ideas with numerical precision, and is the undisputed backbone of the band, and a man of extreme patience.
Scott Wendelberger grew up in the frozen wastes of Wisconsin, but now works and plays in Boulder, for which he is ever grateful. Scott’s musical evolution on drums involved several years playing big band and orchestral music, but has recently blossomed into full-fledged rock and roll godhood, emerging fully formed from Charlie Watts’ forehead.
Andy Williams hails originally from Syracuse, New York, and knows something about snow. He lives in Louisville, Colorado, now, where he helps organize the Louisville Farmer’s Market, while searching for excuses to play his guitar and sing, his foremost passion.
