For the better part of 25 years, Kansas City duo So Long Solo wove their stories a mere 45 minutes apart, never knowing that the other existed. Mark had spent the past 5 years writing and performing under his pseudonym, theothermarkmiller, taking him from the midwest to a year long Artist in Residency in Tokyo, Japan. Meanwhile, Heather finished her Music degree, moved to Uganda and South America to serve orphans and volunteer, and at last “settled” back home in Lawrence, KS where she developed her flute studio. Then fate intervened on the back of a canceled open-mic and a boutique coffee shop.
Three years later they emerge with 30,000 miles logged on coast to coast touring (as former band theothermarkmiller), an energized fanbase, and a future that looks brighter than the new rings on their fingers. Collectively, they have headlined over 150 shows, and shared shows with many notable bands including Stars Go Dim, Andrea Hamilton, Blake Aaron Guthrie, The Bergamot, Melissa Rapp, and more.
So Long Solo is signed with Brave Enough Records.
Quotes from shows:
“If I may be so bold... on behalf of everyone that came tonight, you guys are always welcome on campus! It was really cool to have a chill and relaxing environment that we never really have here. Thanks so much!”
“So Long Solo is my kind of music. I really enjoy the indie sound and laid back kind of feel. It helped me wind down from a long day.”
