Daniel Covrett – Baritone and tenor saxophones, flute, and keyboards - Daniel played sax in 50’s and 60’s bands for a few years, with a stint as the musical director for the Del Vikings. 50’s and 60’s music, along with his love of jazz, eventually led to a love of jump swing. This led to playing with the Blue Front Persuaders, led by Steve Lucky (of Steve Lucky and the Rhumba Bums) out of Ann Arbor Michigan during the 80’s. Later, he moved to Seattle where he played in a variety of jazz, R & B, funk, salsa and Latin jazz groups, eventually leading his own soul jazz group. Portland’s great blues and jazz scene drew him from Seattle to Portland Oregon. Most at home with one foot in R & B and one foot in jazz, he plays with a variety of R & B, soul, funk and jazz bands.
