Established in late 2012, the band rose from the ashes of another Memphis project that unfortunately didn’t make it, as so many do in an ever-changing music scene. Chris M (drums), and Andrew S. (bass) decided desperately to try something new. Their talent was immense, and after realizing they had too much of a good thing to just throw away, they searched through a treasure trove of names and came up with the name Six Of Six. It was a name that seemed at the time to fit, it flowed well, and it sounded cool enough. It could also mean many things, and at the time the band was still undecided on the actual direction they wanted to take. Each person may have their own interpretation on just what it means. To the band it means (complete) we are Six of Six we lack nothing. Six is a number some hold important. While also being a number that some may fear, and hate. It’s the Yin and the Yang of all band names, but the band also holds no religious views over the number. The band only asks you listen to the music before judging for yourself, the music is what matters.
After a few bumps in the road and a rough start. Lots of ideas started flowing, and the band has grown considerably since. A good friend Mike C. provided the band with a bit of financial support, and the band purchased all new studio equipment for recording their sound. Now on the brink of a comeback the band lies poised to once again create some ripples they hope to grow into waves. With plans to record and actively seek out a good recording deal, they also hope to grow the band independently on a local and regional level. So please be on the lookout for lots of stuff coming from this band in the next few years. Coming soon to a venue near you!
