Empire Road has always evaded easy classification, wishing to walk their own unique path defined by liveliness and innovation. "Are You Ready," the New York-based band's latest single release, sees a gorgeous growth to their sound and vision. As demonstrated by the song's all-encompassing title, Empire Road has displayed their passionate and persistent outlook. Boldly experimental yet instantly available, "Are You Ready" is Empire Road’s most challenging and powerful work to date.
"I think it's a huge step in the right direction," drummer Nick Tortora agrees. "It's an innovative and radio friendly single."
Founded in 2009, Empire Road received instantaneous attention with their distinctive yet catchy melodies, intricate rhythms, swirling vocals, and singer Joe Lorge’s profound yet ambient, pedal-creativeness. Productive from the start, Empire Road plans to let loose with a "self titled" E.P. in February of 2012.
"One of the things we wanted to do was capture a live energy into our recordings," says Tortora. "We all feel like our live show is where you get to see us rock out."
The latest “Self-Titled” E.P. the band plans to release officially began in October-2011 as Empire Road continued to begin shaping and developing there mature sound. Empire Road collaborated with engineers Anthony Lopardo & Raymond Marte of Killingsworth Studios with an agreement about how to proceed.
"We played the songs for Anthony and he was immediately excited to track and mix the project," Tortora says. "He had a great idea of where things could be edited, so he was a great set of ears to help us release a better final product."
The barefaced and desirable "Self-Titled E.P." will unquestionably bring Empire Road to new listeners. After the release of the E.P. the band will be ready to return to the road, knowing that their ever-increasing fan following awaits.
