As an emerging Christian singer/songwriter, Corby has one goal: to share the love of Jesus Christ through music with anyone who will listen. His role as worship pastor at Northwest Bible Church in Columbus, Ohio, gives him plenty of opportunities to do just that. But as Corby points out, “the Bible calls us to take the good news to all nations.” The November 2012 release of his second studio project, About Face: A Worship EP was the next step in putting that call into action. The project centers around the idea of redemption, admitting “our propensity to follow after our own ways…while all along, remembering that God is waiting to welcome us back…to follow His direction for our lives.”
To spread the good news…and message…to more listeners, Corby teamed up with Kyle Fenton Promotions and is currently working with the promoter on his third nationally released radio single, “Great And Mighty One.”

It’s always pivotal to start with good songs, but using just the right producer and players can quickly transform good to great! And About Face features some of the best in the business. The project was produced by Daniel Ornellas, former member of the chart-topping band, Tree63 and current bassist for Brenton Brown. AF also features the phenomenal guitar work of Scotty Murray (Hillsong United, Matt Redman, Aaron Shust), drums by Ben Showalter (Sonic Flood, Matt Maher) and Aaron Sterling (John Mayer, Kelly Clarkson), with keys and programming by Fred Williams (Mat Kearney, Train), and cello from Cara Fox (Gungor).
Broad, cinematic, and spiritually charged, About Face – A Worship EP draws from a deep well of inspired writing, masterful playing, and slick production elements. “I’m blessed to be able to sing and make music for a living,” Corby says, “but but none of it matters if people remain unchanged for Christ.” With this album, Corby says, “I just want to be used by Him in that effort…to that end.”
Who establishes a rising career in the country music business, appearing with the likes of the Dixie Chicks, Tracy Lawrence, Diamond Rio, and George Strait’s Ace In The Hole Band, and then just walks away from it? One night several years ago, Corby LaCroix did just that. He and his band were at a Dallas-area club, running a routine sound check before a gig. He explains, “I heard the Holy Spirit—not just ‘felt His presence,’ but I heard Him. He told me that what I was doing, what I was chasing, was not where He wanted me to be. It was very clear, and it hit me like a ton of bricks.”
Even after an obvious “signpost moment” like that, many artists would hesitate to make a change. But Corby never looked back. “The coolest thing about it was that in an instant, literally, I all of a sudden hated where I was and what I was doing and what I was doing it for. It was like a light switch just turned off.”
The band played the rest of the gigs on their calendar, but Corby’s heart was already looking toward a different future. “I didn’t know what God was doing, but I thought He might be calling me somewhere else musically.” Corby admits, “I had been praying for years that God would do stuff with my music, that He would use it, that I would be a light in a dark place. I know that I’m playing in shady places, God, but….”
Nothing happened right away, except for a few appearances at churches. “I just remember I put my guitar away for what seemed like a long time,” he says. Years later, more serious church involvement grew into a full time worship ministry position. Corby began writing songs for worship, eventually recording his first album, Declaration, which released in April of 2011. The project spawned Corby’s first national radio release – “You Remain.”

WHAT LISTENERS ARE SAYING:
“Whenever Corby sings, you feel the presence of the Lord around you. God bless you Corby!” - listener, Jango Radio
“I just heard You Remain on the radio and almost had to stop the car to worship. I came home and downloaded the entire CD and spent the entire evening in worship. Thanks for blessing us all with your talent. I love the real sound of your music; almost like you are right in front of me worshipping. Not too compressed or overproduced. Thanks!!! I’m a fan.”

“Corby’s got a worship style that is easy to listen to and great to sing along with. If you ever pull up next to me at a stop light and I have my head thrown back and I’m singing at the top of my lungs, there is a good chance I’m rocking along with one of his songs. I’ve been known to do that.” - Rachel Ridge, HomeSanctuary.com
“ First note - I knew! Great voice, Corby. Rich, hearty, gentle…rings true and inviting. Praise God!” -listener, Jango Radio
