Not many singer/songwriters are lucky enough to call their day job an inspiration. But Tom Daggett is that fortunate. Tom has worked as a gardener for the past 35 years. Caring for the earth and creating alongside nature gives him the inspiration to write songs and the space to do so.
Before writing his own songs, Tom played guitar in bands with his friends since the 1970s. Over the years he fell in love musically three times. First with the San Francisco bands of the 60’s, next with the blues guitarists of the 20’s & 30’s and then with Elmore James and the Chicago sound. His music still reflects these deeply ingrained influences.
Tom started the bay area band ‘Along for the Ride’. ‘Along for the Ride’ became the avenue through which he began to share the songs that he was writing. He still plays with ‘Along For the Ride’, but has decided it’s time to step out as a solo performer. In his own words, “The songs come from the place where I work and love. I want to share my songs on stage as a solo performer, and this is the year to begin!”
