Life Of The Mind was conceived in 1998 as a project workspace where I could express my original thoughts and emotions through poetry and song. Song writing has always been a type of therapy for me, therefore, much of the lyrical content can be personal and explicit at times. The combination of electronic and rock music has always fascinated me. The majority of the songs I have recorded utilize various computer programs combined with vocal and instrument effects and rock guitar. I cannot deny that much of my musical influence derived from the "industrial rock" genres of the 90s and late 80s.
Life Of The Mind's latest album, "Waking Up To Alarms" is composed of music written over a period of 8 years. After coming to know Christ in 2007, more than a few of the songs that I had planned on including on this album were purged because I felt like the lyrical content did not coincide with the person I am now. Removing the songs was not an easy process. After much careful thought, I believe that the 10 songs contained on "Waking Up To Alarms" properly illustrate the path I have taken throughout the past 8 years. I will most likely never reveal the exact context of what these songs were written about because I feel that would destroy the opportunity for you to relate to them in your own personal way.
While only performing in public a handful of times during the past 13 years,
Life Of The Mind currently remains an "recording only" entity.
I hope you enjoy the album.
