Meet fifteen year old singer and songwriter, Sara Ann Garrison of Lewes, Delaware. Although she has sang most of her life, she began taking her music seriously at the age of ten. Sara Ann has amazing support of her passion for music from her family and very close friends. She would much rather be performing to a live audience than hanging out at the mall. Sara Ann has written many original songs and has recorded 5 of them. She was singing at every opportunity she could; National Anthem at baseball games, karaoke at many restaurants, talent shows at school, and singing competitions. While competing at the Delaware State Fair Youth Talent Show, she met and soon became the lead singer of a teen band. She spent August of 2012 through September of 2013 as their lead singer. They did extremely well for the short amount of time they were together. The band had decided to go on without her, which forced her to work on her solo career again. Although it was a pretty hard blow, the band leaving her behind was probably one of the best things that could have happened to her. In addition to her solo work, Sara Ann works in a duo called Maybe Abilene along with guitarist, David Tarlecki. He composed the music for her song "Ain't Worth A Dime". She recently put together another band, The Sara Ann Band, and they will debut on May 17, 2014.
Sara Ann's most recent accomplishment is being awarded Shooting Star of the Year at the annual Nashville Universe Awards Show in Nashville, TN on February 17, 2014. In addition to the National Shooting Star award, Sara Ann has also won many local competitions such as 2012 Delmarva Star Teen and the 2012 Delaware State Fair Youth Talent winner just to name a few. She claims "music is her life" and looks up to great artists and song writers like Taylor Swift ,Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert and many more. Personal influences include her family and her vocal coach Hannah Cassidy. Sara Ann believes she can get through anything by pushing her fears aside and continue moving onward and upward! With determination, passion and dedication...all things are possible! Sara Ann also plays guitar, and is learning to play the mandolin.
