Mel Donovan born in Wilmington, De. and has lived here ever since. Became interested in playing guitar During The Beatles invasion. Loved the sound of 12-string guitars used in Help and by The Byrds. Played in several garage bands during high school and became an actual working bar band called Traveller for a few years. My daughter and son came along and had to give up the band for a full time job with steady income. This broke my heart and I did not play any music again until 2008. I contacted fellow band member Ken Sutton and we began to write songs again, which was our original goal to begin with. I have put together a 10 song CD as The Melvinator. I recorded all tracks at my home on a Korg D3200 multi-track digital recorder. This gave me the freedom to do whichever tracks I felt like doing whenever the mood hit. I had to use some of the drum programs that come built-in with the recorder as I don't have the equipment nor talent to play the drum tracks my self. I will be making these songs available as I continue to learn the ropes of the new music business. The Circus is included on the CD and the You Tube link is on my home page, please take a look. I am also currently rehearsing with Ken Sutton and John Orr to begin doing live gigs again featuring our own songs as well as some cover tunes. We all have to eat, right. So, thanks for checking us out, hope you like what you hear.
