Peach Preserves / Bio
Peach Preserves is the offspring of a recording session that took place in July of 2011. Meeting at the session, Zack, Danny, and Adrian decided the musical chemistry was too good to end with only one session, and decided to create Peach Preserves, a quartet (that can also function as a trio), specializing in original "Junk Hop" music, combining elements of Jazz, Funk, and Hip Hop.
Each musician in the group has dedicated their life to studying their instrument, and the group hails from the world-renowned Eastman School of Music and University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.
Peach Preserves is an eclectic, educated group of musicians, each of whom possesses a love and desire to improvise and interact with other musicians in a live, organic, constantly-evolving setting.
Their first album, the self-titled "Peach Preserves", to debut in December 2011, was recorded live, providing a lens through which the musicians could adequately express themselves and their improvisation, as well as the extensive interaction that takes place in every live performance. The album is comprised of collectively-written originals and a new take on a classic.
