Our music is so low and heavy... only dolphins and aliens can hear it.
Melodic post-doom. We're a little bit happier than say... Khanate.
The Lot Lizard is a 3-piece heavy rock band based in the Seattle Washington area. Influences of doom, stonerrock, sludge, blues, and jazz forge the atmospheric space-rock that is The Lot Lizard. In 2002 drummer, Josh Burns, and Guitarist, Jake Lagozzino, gave birth to The Lot Lizard deep in a basement in Armpit, Ohio. Donning trucker hats and biily-bob teefs Josh and Jake took thier riff-rock to the streets, yo. Early favorites like Consumption and Aww Haww gained popularity in local venues and The Lot Lizard garnered a small following. In 2003 Josh deployed with the U.S. Army and ultimately ended up at West Point Academy training future commanders. In 2004 Josh met artist/singer-songwriter, Amy Lawrence, in New York state and together they rocked and extended their educations in West Virginia, Florida, & Arizona with the bands Cracker Beach, Rugen, & Heavy Mellow.
After Josh's departure from Ohio Jake continued to play music with Gallion, OH rockers Spacecharge, and his solo acoustic project 30 Foot Tarp. In 2005 he moved back to his home of Washington State.
In 2010 Josh and Amy completed school in Arizona and also moved to Washington. After far too long of a hiatus Josh and Jake reformed The Lot Lizard in early 2011. They revamped old songs, created new ones, and recruited the sweet Amybob to play the bass. Or Maybe she recruited herself..either way, she rocked until August of 2013 when she left The Lot Lizard to start working on other endeavors.
As a 2-piece The Lot Lizard creates austral paintings of fuzz-drenched groove. Bluesy, doomy, progressive, & dynamic.
The sound is remniscent of Kyuss, early Tool, and Melvins with maybe a couple of tablespoons of Helmet for good measure. In January of 2012 Seattle area entrepreneur, Thom Truitt, took The Lot Lizard under his wing. Partnering with Knottygoods.com, Truitt and his TwoGunStagger line of quality shit, put The Lot Lizard into the recording studio in January of 2012 to cut thier first extended play recording due for released in June of 2012. It is available at all your major internet music outlets.
